Cancellations and refunds

Last updated 11 August 2026

Draft. This document describes how Online Community Credit Cooperative actually operates Pine Time, but has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. Questions to [email protected].

Pine Time hosts three kinds of event, and how a cancellation works depends on whether money passed through this website. Today, no money passes through this website at all, for any event — so cancelling costs you nothing, subject to the two limits below. The rules under “Events paid online” below are the policy that will apply once paying through this website is switched on, and once it is, the organizer decides the refund.

Free events

Cancel any time before the event starts, from your bookings page — unless the organizer has already checked you in. Your seat is released for someone else and there is nothing to refund.

Pay-the-organizer events

Some organizers collect payment themselves — in cash on arrival, or by GCash or bank transfer. Pine Time never receives that money, so cancelling here — any time before the event starts, from your bookings page, unless the organizer has already checked you in — only releases your seat. Anything you have already paid the organizer is between you and them, under whatever they told you when you booked.

Events paid online

Paying through this website is not switched on yet, so no event currently sells tickets here. When it is, the following applies: where an event is paid through this website, a confirmed booking will not be refundable unilaterally. You will submit a cancellation request and the organizer will approve or decline it. If they approve, the refund will be issued to your original payment method automatically. If they decline, your booking will stand and you will keep your seat.

We will not set a deadline for organizers to respond, and we will not override their decision. If a refund is approved but fails to reach you, we will retry it automatically. If it still cannot be completed, it will be flagged for us to sort out by hand — it will not quietly stop.

Reserved seats expire

This describes the checkout hold that comes with paying online, which is also not switched on yet. Once it is: starting checkout holds your seat for 20 minutes. If payment is not completed in that time the hold is released and the seat returns to the event. Nothing is charged for an expired hold. If a payment arrives after the hold has already expired, it is refunded in full automatically.

If the organizer cancels the event

You do not need to do anything. Everyone holding a seat is emailed, and once paying through this website is switched on, every paid booking for a cancelled event will be refunded automatically.
